The Prime Minister told delegates that millions of British workers go in fear of union power, and in her keynote leadership speech pledged Government determination to act against militants. 12 October 1979

With the accession of the GDR to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Germans are finally reunited in a sovereign state 45 years after the end of World War II.
